The British Library
Set of 20 charming cards reproducing miniatures from the borders and calendar pages of French and Flemish manuscripts from the 15th and 16th centuries. The original manuscripts are now in the superlative collection of the British Library. Exquisitely painted, the illuminations capture intricate details of daily life in bucolic scenes: from a courting couple flanked by a falconer and a dog drinking from a fountain, c.1520-30; to a lutenist and singers in a walled garden complete with a peacock and apple trees from 'Roman de la Rose', c.1490-1500.
