Description
Très chic cards reproducing a sophisticated selection of French Art Deco fashion plates; each showcasing haute couture for fashionable Mediterranean resorts and the latest looks for holidays in warmer climes. Includes an illustration by George Barbier (1882-1932) for a House of Worth dress illustrated in the fashionable French magazine ‘Gazette du Bon Ton’, 1922; sun and sports dresses by Martial et Armand and Lucien Lelong, and a scene of well-dressed society aboard a cruise from the pages of 'Art-Goût -Beauté', 1926. Reproduced from magazines now in the collection of the Rijksmuseum.
