14 Millefiori Notecards Box

Luxurious notecards reproducing a photographic detail of millefiori glass beads, brought to life with embossing and intricate gold foil details. The dazzling card design pays homage to the 15th century revival of an ancient glass-making technique which became especially associated with the glassmakers of Murano. Meaning ‘a thousand flowers’, Italian millefiori glass became highly prized and appeared in royal and noble art collections throughout Europe. In the 19th century, more affordable souvenirs allowed more travellers to marvel at the flower-like patterns created by fused and drawn glass rods. Brightly coloured cards with jaunty, yellow-colour envelopes presented in a coordinating box.
