Description
A diverting Christmas card design with clever die-cutting and glinting, gold foil details. Reproducing ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’, a painting by much-loved illustrator Anne Grahame Johnstone (1928-98); best-known for her work with twin sister Janet illustrating Dodie Smith’s ‘The Hundred and One Dalmatians’, 1956. The artwork was originally created for a jigsaw puzzle, c.1990s. The festive scene includes ingenious representations of the twelve ‘gifts’ from the traditional Christmas song, all cleverly hidden within the design. This miniature of the image includes the ‘gifts’ but the smaller scale may make it hard to appreciate the finest details. See how many of the twelve days of gifts you can spot!
