Description
Elegant Easter cards, blending a pretty selection of botanical details by Pierre-Joseph Redouté (1759-1840) in a fresh, Spring-like printed collage. Redouté, the acclaimed Belgian botanist and floral artist, illustrated around fifty botanical collections; gaining international renown while working as a French court painter to Marie-Antoinette. Includes exquisite details of narcissi, daffodils, lilac, crocus, anemone and camellia from ‘La Botanique de J.J. Rousseau’ published 1805, ‘Les liliacées’, 1802-16, and ‘Traité des arbres et arbustes que l'on cultive en France’, 1800-19.
