Description
‘Ah, you should see Cynddylan on a tractor. / Gone the old look that yoked him to the soil, / He's a new man now, part of the machine, / His nerves of metal and his blood oil.’, ‘Cynddylan on a Tractor’ by R.S. Thomas (1913-2000)
A chunky ceramic mug decorated with a colourful design celebrating the agricultural stalwart: the tractor. The first petrol-powered tractor was built in 1889 but British engineer Dan Albone’s ‘Ivel Agricultural Motor’ of 1903 is often considered the first of the modern tractors which revolutionised 20th century farming. Decorated with a wrap-around design of twelve colourful tractor variants, farming enthusiasts will, as in R.S. Thomas’s (1913-2000) poem from 1952, make you feel a ‘new man now’ once powered by a warm beverage in this practical mug. With a white background on the outside, the design is contrasted with a green interior, and the chunky profile makes the mug handy for use indoors or out.
