Racing Father Christmas Crackers

Six handmade crackers with a traditional printed design inspired by Victorian decoupage, each containing a wind-up Father Christmas toy ready to race across the table. Decoupage, the art of decorating surfaces with cut-out paper images, varnished to create the illusion of inlaid or painted ornament, enjoyed an enormous vogue in Victorian Britain, where it became both a fashionable parlour craft and a commercial decorative technique applied to boxes, screens, trays and greetings materials of every description.
