Description
Moulded mercury-glass tree lit from within by twelve LEDs, recalling the silvered Art Deco glass ornaments first produced in Germany in the mid-nineteenth century. Mercury glass, despite its name, contains no mercury at all; the technique instead involves coating the inner surface of blown glass with a silvering solution, a process refined in the Art Deco era to produce ornaments with a striking mirrored lustre that became hugely fashionable for festive decoration between the wars. With a six hour timer, this festive decorations is lovely as a Christmas gift for anyone who loves vintage-inspired festive style.

Service Rating:
It’s quite pretty, I kept it only because I couldn’t be bothered to send it back.
It states quite clearly that it is glass and in my opinion it plastic or acrylic but it is definitely not glass.
It’s very lightweight.
Not what I would expect from the museum collection.
Disappointed.
I did phone and tell them that it not as described.
