Description
Pretty and practical divided dish featuring sweet peas from the Botanic Garden collection created in 1972 by designer Susan Williams-Ellis (1918–2007) daughter of architect Sir Clough Williams-Ellis, who founded the Italianate village of Portmeirion in North Wales. Williams-Ellis, inspired by 19th-century botanical illustration and her father’s visionary work at Portmeirion, brought the beauty of English gardens to the table. I bought this dish to go with other Botanic Garden pieces I have, made by Portmerion in Britain. It is a pretty and useful dish, but I was very surprised to see Made in China on the back. I am left wondering if I have bought genuine Botanic Garden China or a Chinese copy of it? Clarity please?
Thank you for your feedback. This particular dish is made from porcelain and is designed in the UK and manufactured in China as part of the official Portmeirion Botanic Garden range. We have updated the website description to reflect this. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Kind regards, Alice.
