Autumn Deco China Mug

Clarice Cliff-inspired china mug echoing the stylised landscapes and bold colour blocks of Art Deco ceramicist Clarice Cliff (1899–1972), whose 'Bizarre' ware combined simplified village scenes with strong, decorative silhouettes. Cliff was one of the most original and commercially successful ceramic designers in British pottery history, beginning her career as a paintress at the Newport Pottery in Burslem and rising to become art director, she developed her signature style of boldly outlined, brilliantly coloured geometric and landscape patterns at the end of the 1920s. A lovely gift for any admirer of Clarice Cliff or for anyone whose idea of a perfect morning begins with a beautiful mug.
