Peacock Feather Locket

Blue and green hand-enamelled costume locket featuring a peacock feather motif, a favourite symbol among Art Nouveau designers such as Piel Frères, renowned for their decorative jewellery in fin-de-siècle Paris. The peacock represents immortality and renewal, and suited the movement’s love for nature and mythology. The locket includes a plain reverse.
