Amber Nouveau Pendant

Silver pendant set with amber in mixed hues, recalling the work of the Danish Art Nouveau jeweller Evald Nielsen (1879-1958), who drew on the centuries-old Baltic amber trade that had supplied Nordic craftsmen since antiquity to create jewellery of great natural warmth and organic beauty. Nielsen's work belongs to the Scandinavian Art Nouveau tradition that looked to indigenous materials and northern natural forms as an alternative to the more florid southern European interpretations of the style. Natural stones may vary. Warm amber tones give the pendant a distinctive, softly glowing character.
