Description
A delicately hand-cut intaglio design of snowdrops on crystal. Symbolising new beginnings, hope and rebirth, snowdrops have been an inspiration for many poets, including Alfred Tennyson (1850-1892), an English poet who wrote ‘The Snowdrop’ in 1884: 'Many, many welcomes, February fair-maid!'. Intaglio designs first emerged in the early 1430s and is an engraving process where the image is incised into a surface and the line holds the ink. The practice continued into the 19th century where the style of later pieces is reflected in British-made crystal designs. This dainty vase would make a perfect home for a bouquet of flowers.

The vase is even more beautiful and delicate than it looked in the catalogue. It’s very pretty.
