Description
A festive set of four Christmas tree decorations, each featuring details from 19th and early 20th century paper ephemera and Christmas cards. Ingeniously designed in Germany as miniature ‘books’, simply secure the two ‘covers’ with a hidden magnetic strip and display as intricate, die-cut decorations. With five-sides, each star-shaped decoration presents delightful, nostalgic Christmas scenes. Charming, printed collages created by contemporary German designer Barbara Behr include angels, children and Father Christmas. The German ‘book’ titles include ‘Das Weihnachtshaus’ (‘The Christmas House’) and ‘Die Engel Werkstatt’ (‘The Angel Workshop’). Each decoration includes a hanging string and star-shaped tag printed ‘Frohes Fest!’ (‘Happy Holidays!’). These decorations can be used year after year, or make wonderful cracker fillings or table gifts.
