Description

‘Sweet bird… most musical, most melancholy!’, John Milton

Reflecting centuries-old traditional crafts, this dainty Russian trinket box intricately painted with a charming blue tit in the Palekh style. The lacquered art technique invoves painting the design on papier-mâché by hand and is a unique craft that has been celebrated in region since 1923. Ideal for displaying decoratively or for storing a favourite small keepsake such a ring, each box is signed by the artist and will vary slightly due to the handmade nature.
