Dachshund Sculpture

Cold-cast bronze dachshund sculpture recalling early 20th-century Viennese examples. This sculpture pays homage to the Viennese animalier tradition and the dachshund’s rise in British decorative arts after Queen Victoria popularised the breed in the mid-19th century. Its elongated form became a motif of loyalty and elegance in sculpture and domestic ornamentation, echoing works by Franz Xaver Bergman and the Secessionist movement’s stylised approach to natural forms.
