Description
An atmospheric jigsaw puzzle reproducing ‘Plum Garden at Kamata’, 1857, a woodblock print by Japanese ukiyo-e master Utagawa Hiroshige (1797-1858). The original print captures the blossoming plum trees of Kamata’s Umeyashiki park — which still survives in modern Tokyo. This is one of the artist’s last works, from the celebrated ‘One Hundred Famous Views of Edo’, The plum trees were a popular attraction for Edo’s cultivated inhabitants, suggested by the canopied and cushioned palanquin visible on the right of the image, which would have carried a wealthy visitor to see the blossom and take tea in the garden’s tea houses.

Jigsaw design was beautiful and quality turned out to be very good. The jigsaw came in a sturdy box in which there was a printed guide to the full picture as the square box only showed part of it. As a busy person, I can't spare as much time as I would like to devote to solving this puzzle so I am still only half-way through...
