I purchased two - one to form part of a Christmas present to a friend who lives in a care home, the other for me to sample first.
The cake is moist and delicious, with its whisky-soaked fruit.
The smallest disappointment could be in the size of the cake at 300g, as when you open the tin the cake - still in the liner it was cooked in and airtight in a sealed cellophane wrapper - appears a good 1 cm (or perhaps a millimetre or two more) smaller all round from the inside edge of the tin. I suppose this is to guarantee ease of access but all you have to do is take off the tin's lid (there are two small pieces of sellotape to remove first), and then turn the tin upside down, so I do think the cake could be slightly larger.
