Tramore Button Cardigan

Merino wool cardigan in berry with a button front, recalling the enduring popularity of Aran and cable-knit patterns. The cardigan has full-length sleeves and ribbed detailing, and is knitted in Ireland from soft Merino wool. Aran and cable-knit patterns gained mainstream momentum in the 1950s when Vogue and Patons & Baldwins published widely circulated knitting patterns. The origins of Aran knitting lie on the three islands of Inis Mór, Inis Meáin and Inis Oírr off the west coast of Ireland, where the distinctive raised stitch patterns that are said to carry meanings connected to the sea, the land and the spiritual life of fishing communities.
