Starry Night Longline Waistcoat

Blue cotton longline lined waistcoat inspired by Van Gogh's 'Starry Night', 1889, its spirals widely read as expressions of emotional intensity. Designed in a relaxed fit, lightly quilted, edge-to-edge style with kantha stitching, side pockets and splits. Painted at the Saint-Paul-de-Mausole asylum in Saint-Rémy, where Van Gogh had voluntarily committed himself following his breakdown in Arles, 'The Starry Night' depicts the view from his room window in the hour before sunrise, transformed by his visionary brushwork into a swirling cosmic drama in which the night sky becomes as alive and turbulent as the landscape beneath it.
