Description
Rose-print dress reinterprets a 19th century chintz pattern, epitomising the Victorian fascination with Indian designs adapted for European tastes. The export of Indian textiles to Europe greatly influenced Western design, with floral chintzes becoming particularly popular for clothing and furnishings. This relaxed-fit dress features a soft rose print in pinks on an ecru ground, complemented by thoughtful details such as a Peter Pan collar, mother-of-pearl buttons fastening through the length and box pleats in the skirt. The ¾-length sleeves are finished with pintucking detail, mirrored on the collar, practical side pockets and an adjustable, detachable waist tie.

This dress is described as "Rose Cotton Dress" but it is NOT made of cotton. The vast majority of this dress is made of rayon and the only bits of the dress that are made of cotton are the pockets! Also, despite ironing it, I have been unable to get the collar to lie flat.

Beautiful dress—looks like pics.
One thing to note, is that it does have that ‘Indian cotton smell’, so I chose to wash before wearing (which got rid of the smell). Beware the fabric is very soft, and as a result quite fiddly to iron properly.
