Paisley Cotton Dress

Pretty cotton maxi dress printed with a paisley design in pinks, green and blue on a white ground, recalling the popularity of this distinctive pattern during the 19th century. Originating in Persia and India, the boteh motif reached Britain via the East India Company and became a hallmark of Victorian fashion. Woven in Scottish mills, paisley adorned shawls and garments, symbolising exotic elegance and global trade. This relaxed-fit, pull-on dress has ¾-length sleeves and a keyhole opening at the back neck fastened with a single mother-of-pearl button, featuring three tiered panels, side-seam pockets, crochet trim around the neckline, and detachable, adjustable waist ties.
