Multicoloured lightly quilted cotton waistcoat with a bold floral print echoing a mid-19th-century fabric from Lyon. Lyon was the epicentre of European silk and textile innovation, where master weavers and designers created intricate patterns for both the French court and international markets. Set on a mid-blue ground and reversing to florals on a light-yellow ground, this relaxed-fit piece features a single coconut-button fastening at the neck, side pockets andlits, and contrast pattern binding at the front opening edge and hem.
