Description

Charming cotton corduroy dress with a floral design echoing original prints from the 1930s. The textile material corduroy dates back to ancient Egypt where it was known as Fustian. But the corduroy we know today comes from 19th century Manchester where its hard-wearing nature originally made it ideal for factory uniforms. Later adopted for country clothing it reached its peak in popularity in the 1970s. This pretty dress has a relaxed fit with full-length sleeves and button fastening through length. Finished with two front patch pockets and adjustable waist tie it brings a period pattern up to date.

Made exclusively for Museum Selection.
