Floral embroidered navy blue cotton blouse inspired by blouses that flourished in the 1900s, reflecting the Arts and Crafts belief that fine needlework was art. The movement, inspired by the writings of John Ruskin and the designs of William Morris, elevated embroidery from domestic accomplishment to serious creative discipline, celebrated in the work of artists such as May Morris and the Royal School of Needlework. This unlined navy cotton blouse is designed in a relaxed fit, with blue and green embroidery, short sleeves, mother-of-pearl button at back, side splits and deep crochet hem.
