Description
White cotton tunic with multicoloured floral embroidery inspired by motifs in ‘A Treatise on Embroidery’ published in 1907. The embroidery draws on early 20th-century instructional pattern books, which promoted needlework as both an accomplishment and a creative outlet. Edwardian embroidery favoured lightness, colour, and naturalistic motifs. Floral decoration was often used to soften simple white garments and such designs balanced elegance with everyday practicality. Designed in a relaxed fit with a scoop neck and ¾-length sleeves, and a mother-of-pearl button fastening that runs the full length. Finished with delicate pintucking details on the patch pockets for an elegant touch.

Made exclusively for Museum Selection.

To keep your garment pristine during transit, it has been carefully sealed in protective packaging. On arrival, we recommend airing it briefly to release any residual aroma and to let the fabric breathe before wear.
