Edited by the great Irish poet W.B. Yeats (1865-1939),this handsome edition is based upon two volumes of Irish fairy and folk tales published in 1890, and includes Yeats’s introduction. An authentic anthology of over 75 traditional tales, poems, and songs collected by Yeats and other folklorists of the Irish Literary Revival. From fairies and the ‘lepracaun’ (sic) to banshees and ghosts; witches and giants; saints and devils. By turns scary and magical, discover tales of bewitched puddings and butter, ‘The Kildare Pooka', 'The Witch Hare', 'The Phantom Isle', and 'The Demon Cat'.
