Description
The British Library
A republished mystery from the 1930s, a golden age for British crime-writing.

A dazzling musical premiere in London is marred by the sudden – and all-too-realistic – death of star Brandon Baker on stage in the middle of the second act. When another cast member’s body is discovered it is Inspector Wilson of Scotland Yard’s cue to get to the bottom of the dastardly deeds. Enlisting the help of his son Derek as a fellow audience member, Inspector Wilson must size up the egos and characters behind the glitz and glamour. A comedic, whodunnit mystery satirising the London theatre scene, with twists, turns and drama aplenty. Originally published in 1934, an entertaining tale by broadcaster, novelist and playwright Alan Melville (1910-83).
