Oliver's Britain

A captivating photographic collection capturing the landscapes, buildings, flora and fauna of Britain in many moods, all through the lens of popular photographer Oliver Hellowell (b.1996). A passionate young, self-taught photographer, Hellowell’s images have won a loyal global following for their ability to catch the beauty of the ordinary and the extraordinary. Hellowell, who happens to have Down's Syndrome, often focuses on exquisite details and textures in his work – from the play of evening light on a millpond in Somerset to the textures of an ivy-clad post-box and shapes of roadside ferns and foxgloves. Includes views of Blaen-Y-Glyn waterfalls, a heather-bordered loch in Glen Etive, and characterful portraits of seals, birds and deer. Personally selected for each chapter, the colourful photographs are accompanied by captions exploring Hellowell’s inspiration.
