The Smithsonian Institution
A curated collection of over 1,000 stickers illustrating the breadth of The Smithsonian’s collection and providing a weird and wonderful selection of stickers which are ideal for decoupage, decorating or sealing cards and gifts, and many other crafts. Founded in 1846, the museum was funded by Englishman James Smithson (1765–1829) as an ‘establishment for the increase and diffusion of knowledge’; and is now the world’s largest museum. Each page presents, mainly, colour but also sepia and black-and-white illustrations as die-cut stickers drawn for the museum’s collection. Mixing 19th century anatomical illustrations, photographs of space, seashells, fossils, world war II posters, medieval lettering, animals, decorative bookplates, jewellery, botanical studies, and much more. Simply peel and stick: the single-sided sticker pages are backed with decorative paper-designs.
