Swan Rush & Iris Shawl

Soft teal shawl reproduces Swan, Rush and Iris, one of Walter Crane’s earliest wallpaper designs, created in 1875. Known for his illustrations and contributions to the Arts and Crafts Movement, Crane drew inspiration from Greek vase painting, evident in the use of black outlines and bold blocks of colour. The design was later adapted into a wallpaper by Jeffrey & Co. in 1877. The shawl, made from a recycled polyester-viscose blend, reverses to plain blue and is finished with tassels.
