Description
Pretty habotai silk scarf with a teal background, reproducing a design by William Kilburn (1745-1818), the prolific botanical illustrator and textile designer employed by William Curtis to create plates for Flora Londiniensis, whose skilful and sensitive rendering of plant forms carried directly from his scientific illustration work into his textile designs with a naturalness and fluency that made him one of the most accomplished botanical pattern-makers of the 18th century. With hand-rolled hems; the design will be paler on the reverse. Fresh botanical colour makes it an elegant accent for day or evening wear.
