Navy Blue Leather Backpack

Navy-blue leather backpack with two front zip compartments. The zip closure opens to an inner pouch, a zip pocket and two pen holders, and it is finished with a back zip pocket. It is lined and has adjustable back straps. In 1878, U.S. Army Colonel Henry Merriam patented the 'Merriam Pack', a pioneering 19th-century knapsack that helped shape modern backpack design. Merriam's innovation lay in distributing weight more evenly across the wearer's back through a structured frame and improved strap system, principles so sound that they informed military and civilian pack design well into the 20th century, and underpin the ergonomic backpacks we carry today.
