Meadow Flowers Velvet Pouch

Peach cotton velvet pouch featuring an embroidered floral and bee motif, beautifully embellished with beads and sequins. Inspired by illustrations in ‘The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady’ a facsimile reproduction of a 1906 nature diary kept by British artist Edith Holden (1871–1920), originally titled ‘Nature Notes’. Such illustrated journals encouraged amateur botany and seasonal sketching. Bees and wildflowers were frequent symbols of harmony between nature and daily life. It is slightly padded and has a zip closure designed with woollen tassels. The interior is fully lined for a refined finish.
