Embossed Leather Handbag

Indigo blue leather embossed bag with a design echoing the wallpaper Bird and Pomegranate by William Morris (1834–1896). Morris designed 'Bird and Pomegranate' in 1876, drawing on his deep study of medieval and Renaissance textiles to create a pattern in which stylised birds move through densely foliate forms with a rhythmic, almost musical quality, it remains one of the most beloved of all his designs and a cornerstone of the Arts and Crafts movement's legacy. The bag opens to a zip pocket, two card slots, pen holders and two pouches, and fastens with a turn-lock closure, with a front pouch pocket beneath the flap.
