Holly & Ivy Scalloped Dish

An elegant, scalloped and footed ceramic bowl that brings together antique botanical illustrations and lines from the traditional carol 'The Holly and the Ivy'. The lyrics reflect an association between holly and Christmas dating at least as far as Medieval times. The melody and lyrics known today were first published in 1911 by Cecil Sharp in his influential collection English Folk Carols.
