Forest Stag Tapestry Cushion

Stag tapestry cushion echoing Carl Frederick Deiker's (1836 - 1892) 19th-century oil painting 'Stag in Highland scene'. Deiker was a painter specialising in animal and hunting motifs. Alongside his brother Johannes, he gained recognition for his depictions of wildlife scenes. His paintings often featured various animals such as deer, wild boars, hares, vultures, and falcons, captured in dynamic and naturalistic compositions. These subjects were popular during the 19th century, reflecting both a fascination with nature and a romanticised view of the hunt.
