Description
Our Amber Necklace continues a centuries-old tradition of cutting, carving and transforming amber into treasured pieces of jewellery. Light in weight and warm to touch, amber is fossilised tree resin and was prized from Neolithic times. From pale lemon to rich cognac, amber naturally occurs in a rich variation of hues, making each piece wholly unique. In the ancient world, the Amber Route brought Baltic amber to the Roman empire, where, in ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome it was believed to ward off evil spirits. We can trace the historic journey taken by amber and its status as a luxury commodity deemed worthy for transport over arduous distances.
