Description
National Trust
A timely and thoughtful book teaching a new way to see and appreciate nature, on your doorstep. Choosing accessible, easily-seen natural wonders – typical of parks, gardens, verges or hedgerows - and exploring each sight’s part in the changing of the seasons: the text shows how noticing nature can quietly improve well-being and enrich your understanding of the natural world. Each day provides a short entry and inspiration of what to see. From charms of goldfinches and conker buds, to sloes, lichen, moths and animal tracks. The engaging text also includes reference to history and folklore; learn about toasting apple trees in January with wassail or lighting November bonfires in honour of Thor's favourite month. Illustrated with pretty, watercolour-style illustrations.

I have bought this for my Christmas present, so have not read it, but just glimpsed through. The watercolour illustrations look lovely, and as a watercolourist will enjoy the pictures, and looking forward to reading the book.
