Diecast No.2309 GWR Locomotive Model

Designed by William Dean (1840-1905) the Dean Goods Class of British 0-6-0 steam locomotives were first built in 1883, and the class went on to see long service at home and abroad through the World Wars; they were, notably, used on the lightly-built and winding Welsh lines. Known as the ‘standard goods’ to railwaymen, the final locomotive was withdrawn in 1957. This highly detailed working model, compatible with OO Scale railway sets, captures running number 2309 in GWR livery.

"Diecast" implies to me that it would be made of metal, which is unusual for an OO gauge locomotive these days, and is why I bought it. It is actually made of plastic and should correctly be described as "injection moulded". It is a nice, well detailed model although the cab was not fitted correctly. I had to take it off and refit it. I have not tried to run it yet but I am confident that it will be fine.
