Part of Museum Selection's heritage knitwear collection, our Cable-Knit Jumper has been authentically crafted in Ireland from quality worsted wool for warmth and durability. Adding to our selection of all-weathers men's outerwear, the classic style of this zip-up celebrates traditional cable stitches and a history of determination. Taking its name from the Aran Islands off the west coast of Ireland, the Aran jumper is typically off-white in colour, with a generous display of cable patterns across the body and sleeves. Most historians date this style of knitting to the late 19th century, where it gained popularity among the islanders from regional fishing communities. Hearty and resilient, this form of knitwear is ideal for countryside excursions and ambling, easily layered with other pieces. Influenced by Aran stitches, our generous wool jumper has been made in timeless cream and brought up to date with its inclusion of functional details for relaxed wear and comfort. A wardrobe staple, this cosy Aran jumper knitted in Ireland reflects generations of handicrafts.
