Our Response
Your sizing of the clogs is much too large. I take size 6 in footwear and the clogs were much too large. The size 5 replacement was still a little large but was rectified by the addition of a pair of in-soles. However the slipper like design of the clogs means that there is very little backing round the heel and ankle area. I understood Dutch clogs always had a sufficient "wall" of wood round the heel area to assist the wearer to keep the clogs on. I ordered the clogs so that I should have suitable footwear at my back door to slip on quickly to cross dew covered grass, and to venture into herbaceous borders to pick the flowers there. I do much pruning in my garden which means that I have to enter flower beds. There is not much space to turn round and your clogs are difficult to manoeuvre in such conditions. If I try to reverse my way out, with such little backing on the clogs, I step right out of them and am left with muddy feet. I shall have to resort again to putting my wellingtons on to go to pick flowers for the table and herbs for the pot. They are very nice clogs, but wrongly sized and lacking the grip needed round the heel and ankle.
